A letter from Marcus Price – Farewell

By PEXA - November 30, 2019

After almost ten years, the time has come for me to leave PEXA and find new challenges.

I am immensely proud of the PEXA team and everything we accomplished, both for the company and for the property industry. PEXA is in a fantastic position with its unique culture, world class NPS and enviable team engagement, as well as an exciting pipeline of innovation ahead.

From our humble beginnings of zero transactions and a “simple” vision to digitise Australia’s property exchange process, we have now facilitated four million property transactions valued at more than $600 billion dollars. In doing so, millions of Australians have placed their trust in PEXA to provide them with an improved and more reliable experience when dealing with their most prized and valued possession – their homes.

While I am incredibly proud of our accomplishments to date, I am eagerly anticipating the next chapter of PEXA under the leadership of CEO Glenn King.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of many. Firstly, I’d like to thank my friend, guide and mentor, our Chairman Alan Cameron. Alan is one of the nation’s great Chairman and I will be forever indebted to him for his never-ending support and guidance. In a similar fashion, PEXA could not have happened without the unfaltering guidance of our Board and Shareholders, past and present.

For me, one of the greatest and most unique experiences as PEXA’s CEO has been the extraordinary levels of trust, collaboration and contribution extended to us by the network, resulting in this world-first success. PEXA wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the major banks, state and federal governments, land registries, state revenue offices, the Law Council of Australia, all of the state law societies, the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (AIC), national and state chapters, and the Reserve Bank of Australia. To you all, I have been humbled by your endless leadership, advice and support openly provided to me and the entire PEXA team.

Finally, I would like to thank the true heroes of this amazing industry transformation, our Members. Without your trust, faith and kindness, to both one another and the PEXA team, PEXA would never have succeeded. PEXA truly is yours, and I’m excited to see how it will evolve alongside your fundamental guidance. This has been one of the most treasured experiences of my professional career and for this I will be eternally grateful to you all.

Personally, I am looking forward to finding new opportunities and exploring new ideas. I hope to stay in touch with the PEXA team – or as we call it, the PEXA Family – and with everyone who has been on this amazing journey with me.

I hope you all find great purpose in your professional and personal endeavours, and experience joy in the time you share with those closest to you.

Best wishes to all

Marcus Price
