Note: Settlement figures quoted are total settlements, they include digital and paper-based settlements for residential and commercial properties, unless otherwise stated. Any non-monetary settlements such as family transfers or gifts have been excluded. 

Sale settlements


  • Sep-21 was down 10.3% on Aug-21, and up 15.1% on the same month last year. 

Residential / commercial

  • Residential settlements were down 9.7% MoM and up 36.2% YoY. 
  • Commercial was down 12.1% MoM and down 23.9% YoY.

Greater Melbourne / rest of VIC

  • Greater Melbourne Area was down 10.8% MoM in Sep-21, a 29.8% rise YoY
  • Rest of VIC was down 8.2% MoM and down 8.7% YoY.

Aggregate value

  • Sale settlement aggregate value fell 1.5% MoM to $16.1B. 
  • This represents a 69.5% jump on Sep-20 which was $9.5B.
