A ‘paperless office’ is an environmental goal for Galilee Solicitors
Galilee Solicitors is a national firm of solicitors. Founded by Ralph Galilee in 1994, the business has become a leader in the field of mortgage lending, property and commercial law. From the outset the firm has focused on developing and maintaining personal client relationships. To facilitate this, Galilee Solicitors has a continuous improvement process in place; its aim is to streamline and improve work flow within the firm.
So, for Galilee Solicitors, PEXA was an immediately attractive proposition because it significantly streamlined their conveyancing service.
While a ‘paperless office’ has been an environmental goal for some time, Yvonne Noon, Residential Lending Manager at Galilee Solicitors notes, “PEXA means paperless conveyancing and mortgage transactions. Earlier, most documents were sent as paper requiring signatures and then sent back. Now we have digital signatures via PEXA. That’s the future: digital, paperless.” Her co-worker, Solicitor Assistant, Robyn Dimis, confirmed, “PEXA removes many inefficiencies in the current manual and paper settlement process. There’s no physical restraints on how many digital settlements can occur at once with PEXA; there’s no trying to find settlement agents to be at many different venues. That’s a significant cost-benefit.”
PEXA training: easy and on tap
Given its focus on property, Galilee Solicitors was keen for its conveyancing team to be fully trained in using the PEXA platform as soon as it was available. The first PEXA transaction by a law firm in New South Wales was performed by Galilee Solicitors who successfully lodged a caveat. Additionally, Galilee Solicitors was also the first law firm to oversee PEXA’s first four party transaction. Since then the company has overseen its first four-party transaction. In the lead up to these milestones, PEXA trained the Galilee team to ensure they were one hundred percent confident in using the platform.
On PEXA’s training, Yvonne Noon noted, “PEXA put themselves out there. They gave everyone clear instructions and clear information sessions. They walked us through the whole process; it was very clear. They were with us every step of the way. So it didn’t feel like we were doing it on our own or having to work it out for ourselves. It was very much a joint venture in that respect.”
What the other conveyancers are saying
Robyn Dimis, Assistant Solicitor at Galilee Solicitors Sydney.
“We are always looking at ways to use technology to enhance our customer service. So for us, PEXA is invaluable. I can now tell my vendors that their transaction was settled and funds are immediately apparent in their nominated account,” she said
