Property Exchange Australia (PEXA), the operator of the nation’s leading digital property settlement platform, is pleased to announce the appointment of highly regarded public service leader Simon Smith as Chief Operations Officer.

Mr Smith brings extensive public sector experience to PEXA, having served 24 years with the NSW Government in several roles including: Secretary of the Department of Industry under then Premier Mike Baird; CEO of the Department of Finance, Services and Innovation; and Deputy Director General of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

He joins PEXA from international management consultancy Nous Group, where he worked extensively with government and university leaders developing strategy, delivering transformation and strengthening governance practices.

PEXA Chief Executive Officer Glenn King said Mr Smith was a high-quality addition to the executive team and would help drive growth and innovation at PEXA amid the accelerating adoption of e-conveyancing around the nation.

Mr Smith said: “I’m delighted to be joining PEXA at a time when the ability to settle property transactions efficiently, reliably and securely has never been more important. PEXA has been a global pioneer in digital property settlements and I’m excited to be able to play a role in the next stage of its development.”
