A digital future for Coronis and clients

By PEXA • Jul 2019

Nick Wiedman from Coronis Conveyancing shares his thoughts on the ‘digital client’, adopting PEXA and the progress of e-Conveyancing in Queensland.

The adoption of digital conveyancing is becoming increasingly visible throughout Queensland – with more practitioners choosing to settle property electronically each day.

The game is changing

Progressive firm Coronis Conveyancing recently began embracing digital settlements and its Director, Nick Wiedman, feels that there is an inflection point ahead for the state.

“We firmly believe that the conveyancing industry is approaching a crossroads. There are several aspects about the legal industry that are archaic, while other industries have evolved to embrace the changes that technology inevitably brings.”

“There is no doubt that e-Conveyancing is the ‘Uber moment’ for conveyancing.”

The digital client

In their day-to-day, consumers conduct business such as banking and shopping digitally, for maximum efficiency – and Nick believes this preference for tech-solutions is extending to property.

“Our constant exposure to all pieces of the real estate puzzle has made it glaringly obvious that our clients expect everything to be done with efficiency and in the digital space where possible. The integration of PEXA into our business has sent a clear message to our clients that our firm remains technologically minded and is constantly looking to evolve.”

“The added value that e-Conveyancing brings to our clients was clear from the outset – no more bank cheque or settlement agent fees and our sellers have access to cleared settlement proceeds on the settlement day, something that our clients are thrilled about.”

Efficiencies await

Having had a positive experience introducing e-Conveyancing at Coronis, Nick shares some helpful tips for peer firms contemplating making the switch.

“If any other firms in Queensland are reading this and have hesitations in adopting PEXA, my advice is to just do it. It is so easy and the onboarding process is flawless.”

“The whole conveyancing process becomes more streamlined and cost effective. Gone are the days of spending hours on hold to the bank, as issues can now be resolved in real time in the PEXA Workspace. Our firm has not encountered one single post-settlement problem from a settlement completed in PEXA – not one!”

“In addition to this, the freedom of PEXA offers our staff additional benefits, including more control and a better work-life balance. Our business was already completely paperless and quite lean and operating digitally in the e-Conveyancing space feeds into our ability to work remotely and be flexible with our start and finish times.”
