Reforming $7tn property market

By PEXA • Aug 2017

PEXA’s a top Australian workplace

Property Exchange Australia (PEXA) emerged several years ago as a digital start-up with a COAG mission to modernise the $7.2 trillion residential property market – the nation’s largest asset and wealth contributor. Now just weeks after snaring top honours in five categories at the 14th Annual International Business Awards, PEXA has been ranked as one of Australia’s great places to work.

PEXA’s Group Executive, People & Culture, Rebecca Evans said PEXA is now noted for its rapid rise as both a high-tech innovator and a top place to work. “PEXA is internationally recognised for digitising the property settlement process in Australia. Now it’s earned the reputation as one of Australia’s top places to work as well,” she said.

“Being a top workplace winner reaffirms that PEXA has the right settings in place to attract and reward employees who are digitising the mortgage lending and conveyancing industries.  Our people innovate daily and at the same time are constantly breaking industry records with the value of property transacted through PEXA’s e-Conveyancing network now exceeding $60 billion. Our people know that the ultimate beneficiaries of PEXA’s reforms are the mum and dad home buyers and sellers who contribute to the $7.2 trillion property market.

“Earlier this year PEXA consolidated its three existing Melbourne-based offices into a single, modern office space – known in the industry as the PEXAPLEX – and introduced its ‘WILD’ or What-I-Love-Doing program with wider application beyond the Victorian headquarters to other states. The WILD initiative encourages our team members to discover what they’re passionate about. We recognise that if staff can follow their passions it encourages them to be creative and committed at work too. It’s been a major success. One of our employees embraced the WILD program to promote flexible working while keeping her family unit together as a result of her husband’s regular business obligations in Hong Kong. Thanks to WILD, the PEXA employee could keep her family together while working remotely. We couldn’t be prouder to offer these opportunities to our employees.”

PEXA’s CEO Marcus Price said being recognised as one of Australia’s top places to work is a great honour. “As a business, we strive to go above and beyond. Why should the workplace be any different? We consider our employees as our most valuable asset. PEXA’s success to date is thanks to a culture of collaboration and genuine pride in bringing the residential property industry into the digital economy. This award belongs to property, banking and conveyancing industry professionals and that includes our PEXA people. This award is for them.”

PEXA was announced Australia’s 19th Best Place to Work.
