PEXA Pricing Update: Frequently Asked Questions

From May 18 2026, pricing will incorporate an Industry Data Standard charge. Electronic Lodgement Network Operators (ELNOs) like PEXA are required to use the data standard to conduct eConveyancing services in a multi-ELNO marketplace. Please note, there will be no changes to pricing or fees in New South Wales.

PEXA’s prices remain controlled and regulated by ARNECC, which is made up of representatives from each jurisdiction. Under the Model Operating Requirements, PEXA can recover industry costs such as this. Any price change must be approved individually by each jurisdiction.

PEXA sought approval to apply this pricing change from each jurisdictional registrar. Approval was granted by all jurisdictions except NSW.

This means that we are introducing jurisdictional pricing to allow for different jurisdictional requirements. NSW has deferred the decision on recovery of the cost via pass through pending the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) review of ELNO pricing.

All PEXA Subscribers are impacted by the introduction of jurisdictional pricing.

All PEXA Subscribers who transact on Mortgages, Discharges of Mortgages, or Transfers will be impacted by the new Industry Data Standard charge. This applies to both Practitioners and Financial Institutions.

Transactions in NSW are exempt from the Industry Data Standard charge.

To cover the cost of the Industry Data Standard charge, the PEXA Service Fee for a document will increase by a set amount, determined by the number of Participants acting on the dealing:

For a Mortgage or a Discharge of Mortgage, the Industry Data Standard charge is $1.10 (incl. GST). For a Transfer , the Industry Data Standard charge is $0.55 (incl. GST) per participant.

As is currently the case, the PEXA Service Fee (and the incorporated Industry Data Standard charge) will be assigned to the transacting Participant or Participants acting on the dealing. There will be no change to the generation or display of the PEXA Service Fee.

Note: For Workspaces where you are responsible for multiple documents, the Industry Data Standard charge will apply per document. E.g. Dual role of Incoming Mortgagee & Mortgagee on Title, and you are lodging a Mortgage and a Discharge of Mortgage, the Industry Data Standard charge will be included in the PEXA Service fee for both the Mortgage & the Discharge of Mortgage documents. The total increment will therefore be 2x $1.10 = $2.20

You can use the following options for support and information about the new pricing update.

No. The industry data standard charge will only apply to each Transfer, Discharge/Release of Mortgage, and National Mortgage document lodged.

The Industry Data Standard charge will apply in all jurisdictions except NSW.

Note: The Industry Data Standard charge only applies to the standard version of these documents, including Part Tenancy Transfers. It does not apply to any variants, such as Transfers of Interest or Transfer by Third Party.
